It's official! I am now Jessica Phifer! :) :) :) :) :)
The wedding was amazing! As soon as the doors opened and I saw Travis standing at the alter, I felt transformed! I kept my eyes on him as my uncle walked me down the aisle (which felt like it took FOREVER!) and as soon as my uncle placed my hand in Trav's, my heart leapt! Travis was beyond handsome, and we just kept stealing glances at each other the whole time. My hands were shaking, but he held them steady as we exchanged our vows and rings. When our minister told Trav he could kiss me, it was EPIC! We had people telling us it was the best first-married-kiss they had ever seen! I just couldn't pull away and neither could he.
My bridesmaids and flower girls were wonderful! All of them were stunningly beautiful and HAPPY! Before the wedding, as we were getting ready, my now-sister-in-law (a wedding planner) kept telling me that she had never seen a bridal party as relaxed and happy as mine, which actually surprised me! Throughout the planning, I wanted to make sure my bridesmaids and flower girls were happy. Before I even thought about choosing dresses for them, I asked each one what they preferred, and then I went from there. I let them choose their own shoes (silver, though), do what they wanted with their hair, do their make-up how they wanted, and do what they wanted with their nails. Comfort was the name of the game! My happiness surrounded theirs, even though people kept telling me that this wasn't about them - I ignored that selfish idea. I even gave my hair stylist free reign, but I did have her put my hair up higher on my head. The only thing I was very specific about was how my nails were done, and that was it. :)
On the outside, I was cool, calm, and collected, but inside I was a nervous mess! I kept pacing the room when my bridesmaids and flower girls were sent up to get ready to walk. It was a beautiful day, and it was a beautiful wedding. I couldn't have been happier! Though my bouquet weighed a ton! Travis carried it for me after we walked out of the sanctuary, bc he's just considerate like that!
The reception was so much fun! We danced all night, and yes, we got the life-sized cardboard cut out of my Dad and of Trav's Dad. Daddy was passed around as people danced with him! As I had hoped, people had pictures taken with him, and I even made him dance with Mom by standing behind him with my arms acting as his... It was pretty funny! I managed to work my way around the room, thanking guests and having pictures made, so I didn't get to eat or sit down much!
May I just say that Erin Hubbs was an amazing photographer! I can't thank her enough for being so wonderful! She got some amazing shots, and once she gets some of the pictures posted, I'll put a few up on here.
The honeymoon is fun, though not quite a honeymoon, since we came to the beach with another 16 people in tow! Trav's mom decorated my (our) room at the beach house, and it was just beautiful! I posted pictures on facebook. We are having so much fun, and are preparing to head home tomorrow, so I can move my clothes to our room at home and rest a bit before I get to go back to nannying! I admit, I have missed the kids (who were so cute at the wedding!).
That's all I have for right now. I just wanted to do a quick post about the wedding! I AM SO HAPPY TO BE MRS. TRAVIS PHIFER! :)
